Body Found in Yellowstone River

HUNTLEY – An adult male body was found trapped in the Yellowstone River near the Huntley Bridge Wednesday morning by some locals who were recreating on the banks. “We are recovering the body from the river,” stated Corporal Adam Lauwers, the incident command. The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation’s, Worden Fire Department, Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Department, and the Montana Department of Transportation quickly arrived to the scene and began the process of recovering the body from the water via personnel in waders and by boat.

“It does appear that the body had been in the river for some time,” stated Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder on Wednesday afternoon shortly before press time. “We will receive more details after the autopsy is done tomorrow.” This is the second incident of human remains being found in the Yellowstone River this month, adding to the discovery of the human bones by the fishermen two weeks ago near Road 25 by Worden.
