Dear Editor:
In October 1964, Ronald Reagan told us we were approaching a rendezvous with destiny in the November election. He was giving a speech supporting my friend Barry for president.
I had just turned 21 and I was able to vote for Barry Goldwater that year. I call him my friend Barry because I had met him on the 40 meter amateur radio (ham) band a few years before. I remember his call sign was K7UGA.
I also remember Reagan saying that this was not about right or left it was about up or down!
This many years later I feel this election is about up or down again! This time, it is easier to tell who the down party is; it conveniently has the letter D after its candidates’ names.
