Robert George Wittman

Robert George Wittman, 71, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully in his home, January 9, 2023. He was born November 9,h 1951, to Harold and Lillian Wittman in Billings, Montana. He grew up on the family farm in Worden, Montana, graduating from Huntley Project High School. He was actively involved in FFA and shop projects where he was known for his mechanical skills and abilities.  He attended DeVry School of Technology in Phoenix Arizona, where he studied electronics and computer sciences, graduating 2nd in his class. After graduation he was employed by Sun Electronics.

He then moved back to Billings where he continued to work in the electronics field and helped on the family farm.  Robert worked at Pierce Packing as the maintenance supervisor until the plant closed.  He then worked for Phoenix Industries Trucking. Robert started his own Electronic Technical Company called Double E Systems and continued until retirement.

In 1979, Robert married Cynthia Dvorak; they had three children: Charity, Jeremiah and Jenell.  In his second marriage to Carrie Page, he had two children: Robby and Natasha.

Robert was a man of many skills and capabilities. These included all disciplines of mechanics, welding, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and auto body. With these skills he invented, manufactured and created many things, including the family home.

He enjoyed taking his family to the mountains for motorcycle adventures, camping and ice fishing. Tinkering on and restoring his classic cars and several of his older tractors were some of his passions. Robert and his son Robby enjoyed being involved in the Antique Tractor and Machinery Association. Together they participated in the annual Threshing Bee at Osborn Park.

Robert is preceded in death by his dad Harold, mother Lillian, and his son Jeremiah.  He is survived by his daughters Charity, Jenell(TJ), Natasha and his son Robby; his sister Kathi(Jim), and brothers, Tim(Gladys), Jon(Cindy,) and Dean(Shelly) as well as by 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was so well-known for his kindness. He was always available to help anyone with repairs and assistance, no matter the situation. We will miss his stories, jokes and pranks that all enjoyed.

Robert, we will all miss you dearly.

Robert’s final celebration of life was at Heights Funeral Home and Crematory on January 20th.  He was buried at the Huntley Cemetery.
