Obituary: Tucker Joel Noonkester

Tucker Joel Noonkester

Tucker Joel Noonkester, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and nephew at age 35 left this world on Monday, November 29, 2021, to join his Heavenly Father.  Words fail to express how deep and wide the heartbreak is with Tucker’s sudden departure, nor can they describe his unwavering strength, solid wisdom, and sharp humor that we will forever miss.  Although Tucker’s life was not nearly long enough for our liking, we are hard pressed to find anyone who lived all of their days with as much passion, dedication, and shenanigans as he did.

Tucker was born on December 16, 1985, in Sacramento, California, to his parents Laurie and Grant.  His first friend and brother Colter greeted him with great plans for playing tractors and shooting guns.  Their playing in the dirt as children would later lead to an exemplary career in construction.  Colter and Tucker welcomed their younger brother Travis, and eventually (and finally), their treasured baby sister Mikhael. Cousin Steven Graham joined the clan and the shenanigans reached an epic level.  Being raised on the ranch at Laurel began Tucker’s lifelong love for all manners of livestock, well, except rouge roosters and barn cats.

The family would relocate to Pryor Creek, close to grandparents, Margaret and Everett Noonkester who helped foster Tucker’s unmatched work ethic and deeply held faith in Christ.  Tucker was extremely fortunate to work alongside his grandfather, father, brothers, and great friend Johnny Walker on the Pryor Creek Golf Course.  This experience and later building the Bully Pulpit Golf Course in Medora North Dakota would be the catalyst in Tucker receiving the Montana State and National FFA Proficiency Turf Grass Management Award.  He participated in FFA and Huntley Eagles 4-H.  Tucker graduated from Huntley Project High School in 2004 in which the family is forever grateful to the entire community for their graciousness during his high school career.  Tucker went on to attend Northwest College in Powell, WY.

4-H is where a cute little red head from Shepherd would steal his heart forever.  Katie Mosher agreed to be his beloved wife, and they were married on June 12, 2009.  To his delight, Tucker was enveloped into the beautiful and vibrant Mosher/Goggins family.  Although he learned to respect blue and gold, he was forever loyal to the red and black.  With Tucker’s heels dragging in the dirt, they would eventually settle in on the “other side of the river.” Katie-1, Tucker-0.

Tucker and Katie would begin their grand adventure as a family by welcoming their son Everett Blane in 2011. (Tucker took great pride in being able to name a son after his best friend and grandfather.) Audrey Mae in 2013, Harper Jane in 2016 and rounding out the house on Rooster Ridge with Ruby Rose in 2019.

There was no greater honor Tucker could have been given than to be called Husband and Daddy, and his family was his greatest joy.  In the words of Tucker, “I do everything with my family in mind, and if they can’t be a part of it, I don’t want it.”

Tucker was a true patriot, defender of truth, soldier of Christ and a fierce and formidable protector of those he loved.  You were blessed to be called “his.”

Tucker is proceeded in death by Grandparents, Everett and Margaret Noonkester, Clarine Stovall and Hi Whitlock, Patrick Goggins, Roland and Carol Mosher; brothers Grant, Jr. and Chad; Uncles Clint Stovall, Everett (Bub) and Lester Noonkester.
