The Classic Good American

Dear Editor:

The classic American (as visualized by our Founding Fathers) is a moral individual, man or woman.  Their moral strength is summed up in the Ten Commandments; the Judeo-Christian guidelines to a correct life.  The classic American wants to pursue their vision/dream into the future.  They enjoy their work. There is nothing better than to be happy and do good.   He/she is someone who wants to build something good.  This could be a business, a family (children), a house, a ranch or farm.  They recognize it will take time and effort, but they have a lifetime to get it done.

They are not interested in being given anything, but will be glad to help a neighbor who needs a hand to help build their dream.  They are not impressed by wealth (lots of money), nor by fame (coverage by the media, newspaper, TV, internet).  Their satisfaction comes from being known as an honest, square shooter whose word can be trusted.  They are someone who asks for the truth, will not be bullied, and will not bully anyone.  Politically they are probably an independent, but might consider themselves a Democrat or Republican (with respect to their parents’ politics).  Bottom line:  they will be a valued friend.
