Billings Clinic, Anesthesiologists Sign Contract

by Evelyn Pyburn

Amid rumors that anesthesiologists were quitting jobs and some were leaving Billings, The Billings Clinic and Billings Anesthesiology have announced the signing of a new contract between the two organizations.

The existing contract was set to expire at the end of the year, explained Zack Benoit, Community Relations Coordinator for Billings Clinic.

Billings Clinic and Billings Anesthesiology, PC have signed a new contract, continuing a partnership that has been ongoing for more than 20 years. The new agreement, which went into effect last week, provides flexibility for both organizations to ensure continued anesthesia coverage while allowing them to work together to adapt to the current nationwide shortage of anesthesiologists.

Over the last few years, there has been an historic nationwide shortage of anesthesiologists which has created a challenging environment for recruitment and retention across the country. Combined with the natural movement of retirements and relocations, those challenges have also been felt locally.  Both parties are committed to continue working together to provide high-quality anesthesia care to the patients and communities we serve.

A statement signed by the heads of both groups — Clint Seger, MD, Interim CEO of Billings Clinic, and Brad McPherson, MD, President of Billings Anesthesiology, PC – states that the new contract “continues a partnership that has been ongoing for more than 20 years.”
