Obituary: Earl “Pud” Dean Inman

Earl “Pud” Dean Inman

Earl “Pud” Dean Inman peacefully passed away the morning of August 25th, 2020, at the age of 92.  Earl was born May 10, 1928, in Amadon, North Dakota, to his loving parents George and Blanche Inman.  He grew up in Amadon, graduated and had an immense love for baseball. Earl met and married his wife Donna; he together they had five beautiful children.

Earl loved fishing, hunting, dancing, playing pool and baseball. He was known as a legendary baseball player and enjoyed visiting about it until the days just before his passing. Earl loved playing pool long after his baseball days and will always be known as a pool legend to all those that played with him. As Earl aged, playing pool became a thing of his past so he dedicated his efforts to a new passion, gardening.

Earl and his second wife, Peggy, moved to Ballantine, MT, in the early 80’s. Earl’s passion for gardening quickly became what the community knew him for, and he adoringly became known as, “The Mayor of Ballantine.” Pudd always loved to share the wealth of his garden with all of his friends and the community.

Earl’s favorite things included spending time with his friends and family. It did not matter if that time was spent visiting, having a beer, watching his granddaughter play pool, enjoying the company of his grandchildren or watching his great grandbabies run and play. Earl was such a caring man and wanted to please anyone that came across his path. There was no doubt Earl was loved by everyone who knew him.

Earl was able to live on his own in his large home until he was 91 with the help of his youngest daughter Moni living close by to help care for him as needed. In December of 2019, he went into a memory care facility where he spent his last months with tons of visits from loved ones.

Earl is survived by his daughters Kathy McNeill, and Moni (Terry) Thomsen, grandchildren Sean McNeill, Scott McNeill, Susie (Jason) Morella, Mike (Katie) Mills, Jason French, Michelle (Jason) Mickolio, Ryen (Heather) Thomsen, Chelsea Thomsen (Shawn Schock),and 13 great grandchildren.

Earl will be greeted in Heaven by his parents, wife Peggy, three kids Roger, Tim, Margie, sister Vera, brothers Russel, Max, Dick and Bob, and Wendal Tasker.
